Leven Parish
Council has agreed to adopt the Model Code of Conduct for Parish
Councils. All councillors have signed that they will
conform to this, and also signed individual schedules of interest
which the Clerk will record in the Council's Register of Interests.
Leven Parish
Councillors have always declared in interest if they have had an
interest in any matter that has been discussed in the past, so they
found no difficulty in conforming to the submission of a schedule of
interest, some of which could be very personal.
As all Parish
Councillors are unpaid voluntary workers, there is a feeling
throughout many Parish Councils that this new regulation is rather
overbearing.
