PLANNING AUTHORITY DECISIONS

Central Government and the County Council have stated on many occasions that Parish Councils should have greater authority in making decisions.  This is a very sensible statement, as the eleven elected Parish Councillors are in the best position to know what is right for the village they represent.

Every planning application in the Parish is referred for consultation and the view expressed is taken into account before the Planning Authority makes its decision.  Leven Parish councillors deal with many applications covering a wide area of development in the village ranging from individual single plot development to large sites on housing estates etc.
