MINUTES OF LAST MEETING:
The Minutes of
the Last Meeting held on 6th February 2007 were
approved, proposed by S Nicholson, seconded by Mrs D Hobson
and all in favour.
MATTERS ARISING:
Hornsea Cottage Hospital:
Mrs F Cooper had spoken to Dr Sowerby with regards to the
closure of the NHS beds in the local hospitals. Dr Sowerby
advised that both Beverley and Hornsea hospitals were used
by residents of Leven. The Clerk is to write to Councillor
John Bird who is Chairman of the action group advising him
of this

The above was approved, K Macklin proposed, S Mathison
seconded and all were in favour. |

FINANCIAL MATTERS:
CCTV:
D Thorne has had a meeting with Visual Security Systems
regarding the CCTV. It will cost approximately £20,000 to
install and an annual maintenance fee of £1500. Two further
quotes will be required. The Clerk is to consult with the
Planning Dept at ERYC and Punch Taverns regarding the fixing
of a camera on the side of The Hare and Hounds. The Clerk is
also to contact the Doctors Surgery to enquire as to who is
fitting their CCTV. This item to be placed on the Agenda for
the Meeting in April.
Costcutter Stores - Waste bin:
The Clerk has received confirmation that Costcutter Stores
will pay half towards a waste bin. K Macklin proposed, J
Harrison seconded and all were in favour of the Parish
Council paying the other half towards the bin. The Clerk is
to contact ERYC with regards to this matter.
REPRESENTATIVES REPORT:
Parish Paths:
D Thorne advised that ERYC are reducing the budget for the
parish paths. The Public Right of Way footpaths are to be
cut only three times in the next financial year. The Parish
Council had allowed for an amount in the precept to cover
any shortfall received from ERYC. This item to be placed on
the Agenda for the Meeting in April.
GENERAL PURPOSE MATTERS:
Vandalism:
There have been reports of vandalism in the village. Youths
have been seen trampling on graves in the churchyard. Hedges
and plant pots in East Street have been demolished. If any
residents have any of their property vandalised please
report it to the Police. If not reported the Police are not
aware and action cannot be taken. The Clerk is to contact
ERYC regarding the “No Drinking Zone” signs which were to be
put up in the village.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS:
Horse Riders:
Reports of Horse riders ignoring the one way signs and
riding horses out of East Street have been reported. The
Clerk is to write to The Police, Highways Dept and the local
stables regarding this matter
