ENVIRONMENT AGENCY
THREATEN US WITH MORE FLOODS
|
If the village was
flooded again -
|
|
What would happen to
the value of your property? |
|
Could you get
insurance again and would you be
able to afford the increased
insurance premiums? |
|
How would you cope if
your water, electricity, gas or
telephone supplies were affected? |
|
------------------------------- |
|
The Environment Agency are
working on the River Hull Flood Risk
Management Strategy and in this area
of the River Hull, and are now
suggesting that the may not be
able to continue with maintenance
work, and that they will
decommission the pumping stations
and are proposing to have a flood
storage area at Leven Carrs
|
|
This strategy will leave people,
houses, businesses, roads, schools
and farmland in our area at risk
from flooding. The Leven Parish
Council are urging us all to take
action against this possible
decision. All Leven residents need
to complete the Parish Questionnaire
as a matter of urgency and return it
to the Parish Clerk. Also to write
letters of opposition to your local
MP's.
If you have not received a copy of
the Parish Questionnaire, contact
the Parish Council Clerk
