 Leven Allotment Association...

According to records, there has been an allotment site in the village since at least 1977, having been designated as an allotment by the then Parish Council.

Over the years it has been improved and expanded, and to date there are some 36 plots all of which are currently worked by Leven residents. Recently, three more plots of land have been acquired at the rear of Abbeyfield on Beverley Road, these are also let to residents of the village

We have had great success over the years, growing both flowers and vegetables on the land and some of our members have shown their produce at the local Horticultural Show, winning many medals and prizes.

Currently there is a waiting list for these allotments, which by the way we have been commended by the east Riding of Yorkshire Council as one of the best in the County.

The current Chairman is David Heald, the Secretary is Ian McPherson and the Treasurer is Linda Wilson.

If any residents would like to add their names to the already long waiting list they should contact David on 01964 544 621.

If anyone has any other queries they would like more information on the Association they can contact Ian at ianmcpherson@tiscali.co.uk
