 Holy Trinity Church...

Holy Trinity Church was built on a site given by Sir Richard Bethel in 1843, some 1 1/4 miles away from the site of St Faith's Church.

Built of Yorkshire Gritstone with Westmoreland roofing slate, the church was built between 1843 - 1845 when it was consecrated, though the graveyard was not consecrated until later.

The church is a Grade II listed building and is host to the 13th century limestone baptismal font from St Faith's nave.  The font was originally painted black to give it the look of black marble.

Holy Trinity is also host to the 'Wayside Cross Head', which is believed to be the original head of the White Cross, the base and shaft of which stands on the outskirts of the village.

In addition, the church also houses fragments of a 9th century cross shaft, believed to have been a preaching cross, a 13th century Piscine, and a 19th century Royal Armorial Board, all from St Faith's church.

The church does have one significant 'claim to fame' - it is the first in England to have a stained glass window dedicated to football.

The church clock & bells were apparently installed to mark the Coronation of King Edward VII.

BENEFICE and CLERGY
In July 2010 the current Rector for Holy Trinity moved away from the area and it was decided that Leven Church would become part of a wider benefice. The full benefice title is now:

Beeford with Lisset & Dunnington, North Frodingham, Foston on the Wolds, Brandesburton and Leven.

The Priest-in-Charge is the existing Rector of Beeford, Revd James Grainger-Smith

PCC (Parochial Church Council)

This is the council that generally runs the church and is elected annually at the Church AGM. It consists of people who hold specific positions within the church and general congregation members elected to the Council.

The current PCC as elected in April 2011 comprises:

Mr Barry Richardson (Vice-Chairman, Treasurer & Churchwarden)
Mrs Sharon Hunt (PCC Secretary & Electoral Role Officer)

  Mrs Carol Appleby
Mrs Steph Cunnington (Child Protection Officer)
  Mr Bob Hall
  Mrs Lesley Richardson
  Mrs Sue Livingston
Mrs Julie Ingleby (Foundation Governor at Leven Primary School)
  Mrs Claire Powers
  Mr John Hullah
Mrs Christine Lovewell (Diocesan Synod Representative)

The PCC usually meet about once every two months. It is a formal meeting and all PCC members are expected to attend. A copy of the agenda and minutes are usually available to view on the notice board next to the main door inside  the church.

Every year the PCC hold an AGM (Annual General Meeting) and anybody from the parish or church can attend. At this meeting the annual report is presented together with the annual accounts and reports from each of the Church groups.
