Out of little acorns, giant oak trees grow - well that's how Leven Lites started one evening round a table in West Street - (after a few glasses of wine).

Heather said how much she would like to write a pantomime and a chosen few said how they would be "willing" to perform. (after a few glasses of wine...)

Well it finally happened, Leven Lites are here, and hopefully to stay. Our members total 26 - 8 senior cast members, 6 junior cast members and 12 'helpers'  often the most important ones who provide support to the budding actors/actresses with costumes, props, backstage, front of house (and encouragement).

Following two very successful pantomimes, rehearsals start this week on a new venture for the Leven Lites Amateur Dramatic Group.   They will be performing 3 one act comedy plays in September, one of which has been written by local resident and member of the Group, Val Holmes.   The plays which are to be produced by Bob and Ruth Whatley will be performed on Friday 19^th and Saturday 20^th September and tickets will go on sale at the Leven Post Office on Monday, 25^th August.   Watch out for more details over the coming weeks.

The first production by “Leven Lites” of Cinderella, set in and around the village of Leven was a resounding success.  Tickets for all four performances were sold out two weeks before the opening night with a waiting list for cancellations!  

The show was fantastic with song and dance, frolics and fun in true pantomime style.  There was so much enjoyment it would be difficult to pick a favourite character as all the cast performed amazingly well especially bearing in mind that some of them had never set foot on a stage before!
