| Management and
Administration |
 |
The Pre-School is run by an elected
committee, which ensures that major decision making is in the
hands of the parents that use the group. the committee has a
manager, responsible for renewing both policy and practice,
and appraisal of members of staff and to ensure the
smooth day to day running of the Pre-School.
The Annual general Meeting is held in
September, and parents will be informed in good time so they
are able to attend.
|
| Curriculum |
|
All children are supported in
developing their potential at their own pace, by means
of developmentally appropriate play activities, and a
high level of individual adult input.
The curriculum leads to nationally
approved learning outcomes, and prepares children to
progress with confidence to the National Curriculum at
the age of five. |

|
| Rota's |
 |
Research done by
the Pre-School Learning Alliance shows that children
learn better when their parents are involved. The Leven
Pre-School rota system involves all parents in helping
the group on a regular basis.
The Pre-School
recognises parents as the first and most important
educators of their children, and parents are welcome to
work in the group with the children. Parents are also
welcome to open meetings of the Pre-School Learning
Alliance.
|
| Keyworkers |
|
The Group's Keyworker system gives
each member of staff particular responsibility for just
a few children. The Keyworker can tailor the group's
curriculum to the unique needs of each individual child,
and work with parents through shared record keeping,
ensuring that children are supported in reaching their
full potential. |

|
| Equal Opportunities |
|
The group believes that no child,
individual or family should be excluded from Pre-School
activities on the grounds of age, gender, sexuality,
class, family status, means, disability, colour, ethnic
origin, culture, religion or belief. |
